Product Details

Founded in 2014 by Pedro Rodriguez and his children, Daniela and Pedro Pablo, the Sol de La Mañana program aims to improve the the coffee quality and yield of small holder farms around the region to build a more sustainable future for Bolivia's coffee industry. The family decided to start the program when a group of local producers sought help from them. With the volume of Bolivian coffees on a decline, they decided that they needed to invest and share their knowledge to ensure its future.

Most coffee producers in the region relied on traditional farming techniques and little knowledge on up-keeping the trees outside of harvest periods. Sol de La Mañana is set up to train producers on modern farming techniques and different aspects of coffee farming like building and maintaining a nursery, using fertilizers efficiently, how to systematically prune coffee trees and optimal harvest periods. The program takes seven years to complete, requiring a high level of time , commitment and trust from the participants of the program.
